Project Description

In response to high support costs associated with the client's CMS (Content Management System) product, I was tasked with redesigning the interface for editing the content of pages. The result was a system that relied heavily on AJAX to allow users to edit the contents of any page in their site from directly within that page using a rich text editor with controls similar to those used in Microsoft Word.

The solution I provided was significantly more intuitive than the previous content management method because it used metephors already familiar to the user. In addition, it provided a sense of context the interactions with the site by making it clear where in the site the changes they were making would show up. Furthermore, my solution addressed the special security issues surround AJAX-based administrative interfaces, in addition to providing status indicators to keep users informed about the status of the system.
